This
is another treat for you.
I am very privileged and honored to
have Dr. Lorraine
Cohen to participate in this interview.
I
met Dr. Lorraine
while participating in Blog carnivals articles submission.
Though with
all her
credentials, qualifications and rich experiences as a
personal and business coach, she is humble,
unassuming and friendly. I have
enjoyed listening to
many of her talk shows and
love her wisdom, knowledge and most of all
her
wittiness and
great sense of humor.
So obviously I became her fan.

1. Question:
Dr. Lorraine, you
have been giving advice on transforming fear to freedom to thousands
of clients over the past 20 years
--can you please define fear for us?
Ans:
Fear
is an
emotion we experience as energy in response
to an internal belief or an external event.
Fear can be real or
imagined.
Feelings aren’t good or bad, they are just that –
feelings.
It is the
interpretation we place on emotions and how we use them to either
participate
in life or sit on the sidelines.
For example
– if I am in
danger and facing a
real threat, a fear response would be valid.
If I am sitting in my
living room
contemplating an action I want to take and feeling fear, my reaction is
self
created based on my beliefs and my internal self-talk
(conversation I
have inside
my head).
The emotion of fear can be a motivator or it can hold us
hostage in
our lives.
I believe we are here to be happy and prosperous.
Sometimes we need help in order to free ourselves from the
barriers we create. The key is knowing
when help is needed and getting it.
2. Question:
If a person has
been always fearful, and fear has control over the person’s emotion,
feelings and all, will the
person be able to
get over it and move on in life
if it not dealt with
within the
root cause.
Ans:
Yes.
First I
want to say that most peopleapproach
fear as a negative; something to be
gotten over and rid of.
Fear has a
positive value
in keeping us out of
harm’s
way.
It is when fear has control over our life (as you describe)
there
is a
problem. The key to decrease and transform the power of fear is through
replacing unhealthy and imagined beliefs while deepening the connection
with Source
(Higher Power, God, Buddha….)
The
process
of healing
and release is a
shift experienced internally through our emotions.
Many beliefs that
drive fear
are generated through the subconscious while others are more obvious to
recognize.
To be successful at transforming fear, you cannot
simply
try
to
“think yourself out of feeling fear” and expect to
create a permanent shift. That's not real.
I’ve
always been a person who feels the fear and takes
action anyway. About 10 years ago I found my world
turned upside down
and my
fear turned to terror.
That was one of the most painful and empowering
periods
of my life. Fear pushed me to dig deeper inside
of myself to face
things I had
never seen or felt before.
My fear
also strengthened
my relationship
with God
because in those moments of intense pain, my relationship
with God
deepened as
I asked for and received help.
Looking backwards I know that experience
was
crucial to
my being able to help people overcome their fears today.
I am grateful and humbled by the process of transforming my
own fear into POWER. I can still get caught up in fear.
The main difference is that I unhook from the grip of fear quickly
so that I am feeling vital and alive.
3. Question:
How do you relate fear with the law of attraction working?
Ans:
The
Law of Attraction states that whatever we put our
attention on is what we will attract, wanted or unwanted. Therefore if our attention is fear-based,
what we attract will reflect whatever we fear.
If we are afraid of not having
enough money, we will
create poverty. If we fear being alone, we might
attract
people who always leave us.
4. Question:
Can you tell us the tools you use for meditation in
helping your sub-conscious mind?
so that you can
attract good things, good energy, events and people into your life?
Ans:
I keep it simple. From
the
info taken from Psych-K,
the
subconscious mind is described as:
• Habitual
~
Monitors Operation of the Body…
e.g. Motor Functions, Heart Rate, Digestion, etc.
~Thinks
Literally
• Timeless
~Present
Time Only
• Expanded Processing Capacity
~Long
Term Memory–(past
experiences, attitudes, values & beliefs)
~Thousands
of Events at a Time

I
like
working with
guided mediations like ones from
Eckhart
Tolle, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra and others.
I
also like
meditating
with
Immrama.com CD’s using
alpha-theta technology.
That allows me
to step out of
the thinking state and put my
attention on connecting with the Divine, asking a
question,
or focusing on a desire I wish to attract.
I also include an
evening
practice of writing two pages
of things I’m grateful for.
I
have found that by
beginning my day with
a powerfull intention such as:
How can I be of
service
today?
And ending with gratitude frames my day in attracting good
things into
my life.I have found I am experiencing more
happiness and less
negative reaction
to life experiences.
5. Question:
Can you share an incident or incidences you have encountered
when you
feed your
sub-conscious
mind well and thereby
have the
law of attraction working on
your behalf?
Ans:
I would refer to my answer of
using intention to be
of
service and feeling grateful for what show up regardless
of whether I
like it
or not.
When you let go of struggling against the present moment and
experience, you are feeding yourself acceptance and resilience
so that you can flow with life.
Remember
the subconscious
is like a computer running
a
program
on your hard drive.
If you wish to attract good things into your life,
create a
new program and put your attention on running that
program everyday.
Last
week I
launched
my Transform Your Fear Audio Program
with 23 joint venture partners to help promote it.
I had expectations of how many sales I wanted to make.
It became
apparent, my expectations were too high.
That might have been an opportunity for my subconscious and
self-talk to fill me with anger and disappointment if I
hadn’t been able to shift into gratitude.
I was quickly able to widen my lens of perception and
recognize
many gifts that were coming from my launch that I might have
missed if I only focused on the sales.
I saw a wave of energy beginning to gather
momentum that
will continue to flow over a longer period than a one-day event.
I
wrote about that in my blog
Here
Bottom
line: The
more aware you are of how you are feeling
the more powerfull you can be in creating what you want to attract.
To become aware you must awaken to who you are as
both a spiritual and
human being.
6.Question:
Can you share
one tip for handling fear, and
also to attract good energy, things into our lives?
Ans:
Gratitude is a
powerfull fear-buster. Put your
attention
of all the people, things, gifts you have in your life when
fear comes up.
When you are feeling appreciation, you attract
good things to you. I love the book by Abraham-Hicks, Ask and
It Is Given.
I recommend it to my clients to help them
work with their emotions and the Law of
Attraction. Of course I recommend my
own products too!
Thank
you Dr. Lorraine,
it's been my pleasure and privilege to have this interview with you.
It’s my honored
to know you too.
